Access to construction sites parallel to the RN1 (main road) from the PORT Estcrossroad to the entrance to the coast road (MT1C)

1er juillet 2014

Update on construction of access

Work on access to this construction site consists in laying down a 1500 m-long and 8 m-wide slip road between the crossroads giving access to Port Est at La Possession and the end of the New Coastal Road, parallel to the RN1 (main road) on the sea side.

The works will consist of :

  • Reorganisation of the marketplace in La Possession to enable construction of this slip road. The town of La Possession plans to move the street market/fish market as from August 2013, for a period of four months. The plots concerned, property of the county council, will be made available to the Regional Council during the works linked to the construction of the New Coastal Road.
  • Construction of a concrete river crossing and hydraulic bridge on the riverbed of the gully of les Lataniers
  • Construction of a protective maritime screen over a distance of almost 300 m
  • Partial replacement of the metal duct of the Mare Coton gully.

During the construction of the New Coastal Road, the Regional Council plans to :

  • Maintain traffic and ensure the safety of travellers, notably at the Capitiane Lebourg roundabout (entrance to the construction site),
  • Maintain a safe access to the coast and to the ‘Cars jaune’ bus-stop, thanks to a low-level access (pedestrian subway)
  • Retain the ‘Cars Jaunes’ bus stop, in collaboration with the General Council.

Planned start of construction : start of 2014 (duration of construction work : 8 months, with two months of preparation)

Cost of works : €5,848,000 incl tax
